Installation and
Maintenance
This section provides the steps to install the Quantum processor. It also describes the
rear panel components and provides instructions for cabling. The following topics are

Installation Steps
The Quantum processor can be mounted in a 19-inch equipment rack or placed on a
table or other furniture. To install and set up the Quantum processor for a videowall, follow
the steps below (see the application diagrams starting on page 14 for connection
examples).
1. Disconnect power from the processor and turn off all other equipment in the system.
2. If desired, mount the processor to a rack (see Mounting on page 78).
3. Make cable connections in any order between appropriate devices and the Quantum
rear panel ports as needed:
• Control Ethernet
• DVI, RGB, HDMI, SDI, and video inputs
• DVI and HDMI outputs
NOTE: With adapters, RGB is available on the DVI ports and DVI is available
on the HDMI ports.
• USB
• Monitor
• Keyboard and mouse
• QC 101 controller (optional)
• Media I and Media II Ethernet for QGE 100 video networks (Quantum Elite
models only)
4. Connect power to the IEC connector.
5. Power on all connected devices.
