Quantum Series Videowall Processing Systems • Operation 66
Shutting Down Using the Control Panel
When a keyboard, mouse, and monitor are attached, the Quantum can be shut down via
the Control Panel. There are two methods of shutting down, depending on whether or not
the Quantum is in service mode for uploading stored images.
NOTE: You can also shut down the Quantum at any time by pressing the front panel
Power switch (see Powering off on page 60).
Shutting down in normal mode
When the Quantum is not in service mode:
1. On the Control Panel window, click Shut down.
2. On the Quantum Shutdown window that opens, select the Shut down radio button,
then click OK.
3. A message is displayed, telling you to wait until the screen is blank before powering
down. After a few seconds, the processor powers off and the screen turns dark.
NOTE: If the processor does not power off, wait until the screen is blank, then
press the Power switch on the front panel.
Shutting down in service mode
When the Quantum is in service mode:
1. Click Start, in the lower-left corner.
2. On the System window that opens, click Shut Down. The Shut Down Windows dialog
box opens.
3. From the What do you want the computer to do? drop-down menu, select
Shut Down, then click OK. After a few seconds, the processor and the monitor turn
off.
Committing the Current Settings to Flash Memory
The Control Panel enables you to commit (save) to flash memory all the current settings,
including window configuration, layouts, scenes, and so on. These saved settings remain
in effect the next time the Quantum is powered on. To commit the settings to memory:
1. On the Quantum Control Panel window, click Compact Flash. The Compact Flash
Control window opens.
2. On the Compact Flash Control window, click Commit Settings to Compact
Flash.
3. A prompt window appears, telling you that the system must be rebooted for the
settings to be stored and asking if you want to reboot now. Click OK to proceed. (To
terminate this process without saving settings and rebooting, click Cancel.)
When you click OK, a prompt window appears, telling you that the Quantum is
rebooting.
ATTENTION:
• While the processor is rebooting, do not press any keys or attempt to power
off the system.
• Pendant la réinitialisation du processeur, n’appuyez sur aucune touche et
n’essayez pas d’éteindre le système.
When the reboot is complete, the Quantum introductory screen is displayed. All the
settings have been saved to memory and remain in effect until changed.
