SECTION 5
AIM2™ PROGRAMMING
Develop an FMU-3500 Programmer
An FMU-3500 Programmer is needed to program the AIM2™ module before it is placed in use, and
may also be used to perform AIM2™ post installation tests. For small quantity installations, the
AIM2™ equipment may be tested and programmed using the FMU-3500 installed at the fuel island.
For larger numbers of installations in a garage or someplace remote from the fuel island, a portable
programmer may be developed and carried to the installation site for testing and programming. A
portable Programmer may be developed by removing the upper cabinet from a fuel island FMU-3500,
or it may be developed from a demonstration unit provided by a FuelMaster® distributor. After testing
and programming is complete, the Programmer may be restored to its original configuration as a fully
configured FMU-3500 or demonstration unit.
A portable Programmer must be configured with the same upper cabinet components as the fuel
island FMU-3500. It must have a compact flash card, an FMU radio board (FRB), antennas, matching
site signature and system type, and a means to receive uploads from the Central Controller.
Configure an FMU-3500 as an FMU-3500 Programmer:
1. Through a laptop connection:
a. Verify the FMU is a master FMU configured as an FMU-3500 with AIM2™ antennas, an
FMU Radio Board, and a compact flash card, and communications with a laptop or Central
Controller has been established.
NOTE
The FuelMaster
®
software may also be loaded on a laptop, and a direct connect cable may be used
to configure an FMU-3500 as an FMU-3500 Programmer in accordance with 3. Through the
Central Controller, below.
