► Press on the reta ining clip until it you feel it engag e (2).
► Close the casing (see "
Closing the casing", Page 36).
If you have installed o r removed a PCI board, please check the relevant PCI
slot settings in the BIOS Setup. If necessary, change the settings. Furth er
information is provided in the PC I board documentation.
Installing and removing heat sinks
Removing the heat sink
The shape and po sition of the heat sink are device-dependent.
► Open the casing (see "
Opening the casing", Pa ge 35).
► Disconnect the cable of the fan (FAN1) from the mainboard.
► Undo the screws on the heat s ink.
► Lift the heat sink out of the casing.
You can now replace the processor.

► Reinstall the h
eat sink so that the air flow is fed towards the back of the
casing (see arr
ow on the heat sink).
► Tighten the screws.
► Connect the fa
n c ables to the mainboard .
Never attach
or detach fa ns during operation. This can cause problems
controlling
the mainboard fan.
