8.2 Replacement of non-hot-plug components
When a defective non-hot-plug component has been detected (for more infor-
mation see chapter āStartup and operationā on page 57 and the "Customer Self
Service (CSS)" manual on the ServerBooks DVD), proceed as follows:
Ć Exit all applications and shut down the server properly (see section
āSwitching the server on and offā on page 67).
Ć Pull all power plugs out of the insulated sockets of the rack's internal power
supply.
Ć Remove the server from the rack (see section āInstalling/removing the server
in/from the rackā on page 41) and put the server on a table, for example.
8.2.1 Opening the server

Ć Unlock the housing cover by pressing the housing button (1).
Ć Push the housing cover as far as it will go in the direction of the arrow (2).
Ć Lift off the housing cover upwards.
