11. Install the filter case by turning it in the direction
of the arrow . Tighten the filter case using the
special tool (available from an authorized
dealer) and a torque wrench to within the fol-
lowing torque range.
CAUTION
Do not tighten the filter case too strongly. Over-
tightening could damage the filter case.
12.Install the sensor to the filter case and connect
the connector.
13.Bleed the fuel system.
14.Start the engine to test for fuel leakage.
5. FUEL FEED PUMP GAUZE FILTER

4D3 ENGINE VEHICLES>
1. Disconnect connector from the suction port of
the fuel feed pump.
2. Remove gauze filter from inside the connec-
tor.
3. Wash the gauze filter in diesel fuel.
4. Install the gauze filter and connect the connector
by reversing the order of removal.
5. Bleed the fuel system.
6. Start the engine and check for fuel leaks.
6. ENGINE CONDITION
Tightening torque 30 ± 2 Nm (3 ± 0.2 kgfm)
Sensor tightening

5 ± 1 Nm (0.5 ± 0.1 kgfm)
Cleaning intervals
Every 25,000 km (15,000 miles)
NVI: 5,000 km (3,000 miles)
WARNING
Wipe off any spilled fuel. Also be sure to
check for fuel leaks which could cause a fire.
Connector tightening

(2.5 to 3 kgfm)
