31. PROPELLER SHAFT DYNAMIC
DAMPER<OPTION>
Check the dynamic damper for looseness of
installation and damage.
32. DISC WHEEL
Check the disc wheel, rim and side ring for cor-
rosion, deformation and cracks.
33. TIRES
CHECKING TREAD DEPTH
Make sure that the remaining tread depth is suffi-
cient.
When the tread wears down, slip signs (inter-
rupted sections of the grooves) appear across the
tire at the locations corresponding to the marks.
Replace the tire as soon as the slip signs show up
as continued use is dangerous.

Every 50,000 km (30,000 miles)
NVI: 5,000 km (3,000 miles)

Tread groove depth limit 1.6 mm
WARNING
If the remaining tread is too shallow, the tires
tend to skid and chances of “hydroplaning”
during high speed driving increase. Hydro-
planing can occur when driving on a wet
roads at high speeds. When a vehicle hydro-
planes, tires ride up on and slide over a film
of water, causing the driver to lose control of
both steering and braking.
