2. Fit the oil pan drain plug and gasket in their orig-
inal conditions.
3. Supply new automatic transmission fluid through
the filler tube in a quantity equivalent to that of
the drained automatic transmission fluid. Be
careful not to allow dirt and other foreign matter
to enter.
4. Place the range selector lever in the P position.
Start the engine and allow it to idle for at least 2
minutes.
5. Place the range selector lever in every position
then return it to the P position.
CAUTION
Keep the engine idling. Do not rev the engine.
6. Check the automatic transmission fluid level.
7. Immediately after filling the automatic transmis-
sion fluid, it still remaining over the inner wall of
the filler tube. This may make it difficult to check
the automatic transmission fluid level. Wait a
while before checking the fluid level.
8. The automatic transmission fluid level should be
within the range indicated on the level gauge.
Add the automatic transmission fluid if it is lower
than the minimum level.
9. When adding the automatic transmission fluid,
run the engine at idle and slowly fill the auto-
matic transmission fluid while paying much
attention to its level.
10.As the automatic transmission fluid temperature
increases, the automatic transmission fluid level
rises. Therefore, do not fill the fluid exceeding
the COLD range on the level gauge when the
fluid is cold.
19. PROPELLER SHAFT
Greasing
After removing dust and dirt from the grease nip-
ple of the propeller shaft universal joint , slip
joint .
Greasing intervals
Every 5,000 km (3,000 miles)
