17. TRANSMISSION GEAR OIL
Recommended lubricant:
Gear oil
API classification GL-3,
SAE 80 (general) or 90 (warm region)
API classification GL-4, SAE 80 (general)
SAE 90 (tropical region)
Engine oil
API classification CC,
SAE 30 or SAE 40
(long period of high-speed driving)
Quantity required:
CHECK
1.
Inspection
1. Remove the inspection plug from the plug port
and check if the oil is up to the brim or not.
2. If not, add oil until it does.
CAUTION
Replenish with oil of the same grade and vis-
cosity as the oil currently in use.
3. Attach inspection plug.
Inspection intervals Every 15,000 km (9,000 miles)
Replacement intervals Every 30,000 km (18,000 miles)
