BRAKE SYSTEM
3-57
CHECK
The fluid level should be between the “MAX” and
“MIN” lines on reservoir tank . Check whether the
reservoir tank contains foreign matter. If you see for-
eign matter in the reservoir tank, have the reservoir
tank inspected and cleaned by a MITSUBISHI
FUSO distributor or dealer.
Note: The warning lamp is illuminated when
the brake fluid level drops below the “MIN”
line.
CAUTION
Do not open cap of reservoir tank for inspec-
tion purposes.
Adding fluid
1. If the fluid level is lower than the “MIN” line,
remove cover , clean the surfaces around cap
of reservoir tank, open cap , and add the rec-
ommended brake fluid up to the “MAX” line.
2. Close the cap firmly.
REPLACEMENT <VACUUM-SERVO
HYDRAULIC BRAKE VEHICLES>
Brake fluid is shared by the brake and clutch sys-
tems, and is divided in the brake fluid tank into the
two systems. This section describes the replace-
ment of the brake fluid for the brake system. In
order to completely replace the brake fluid, the
brake fluid in the clutch system should also be
replaced.
WARNING
The container used for adding brake fluid
should be a clean one free of moisture,
mineral oil, and dust.
Be extremely careful not to let dust and
other foreign matter enter the reservoir
tank, as foreign matter in the tank could
cause a failure of the brake system.
Be careful not to exceed the “MAX” line
when adding brake fluid.
If the fluid level is unusually low, there is a
fluid leak in the brake line. In this case,
have your vehicle inspected at your near-
est authorized MITSUBISHI FUSO distribu-
tor or dealer.
