Alarms
Problem:
Why would the monitor alarm for a low heart rate or
high heart rate, but not store in Alarm History?
Answer:
Parameter alarms (i.e., limit violations) do not store in
Alarm History. The Tachy and Brady arrhythmia alarm
categories must be set in advisory or above to store in the
Alarm History.
Intervention:
Review Arrhythmia Alarm Levels in the Alarm
Control menu.
Adjust the Tachy and Brady alarms to Crisis,
Warning or Advisory level.
Problem:
Why is the monitor not calling PAUSE when the patient
is experiencing frequent pauses?
Answer:
The current criteria for the PAUSE may not be
exceeded. The PAUSE alarm in the Dash monitor allows
the clinician to define the pause alarm intervals for
individual patients.
Intervention:
Review the Arrhythmia Alarm Levels in the Alarm
Control menu to ensure it is listed in Crisis, Warning
or Advisory.
Review the BEAT PAUSE INTERVAL in the ECG
menu to determine the current crisis.
Adjust the BEAT PAUSE INTERVAL. Selections
available are from one second to Five seconds in
1

2
second intervals.
