How to fix low light output in GE Medical Equipment?
- DDavid Hernandez MDAug 6, 2025
If your GE Medical Equipment system generates low light output (less than 27 µW · cm-2 · nm-1 on average), the issue might be due to a few reasons. First, the protective cover of the light shade could be dirty; try cleaning it gently with a cleaning solution and a lint-free wipe. Second, ensure you are using the recommended light meter for light output measurement. Finally, check that the light shade is properly positioned: it should be about 38 cm (15") from the bed surface and directly aimed at it. Focus the therapeutic light such that the spot diameter is 35.5 cm (14") or the shade is 38 cm (15") from the bed surface, and the light is aiming at the the bed surface.
