Backup Protocol Database to CD/DVD
The Backup function allows you to save the entire protocols database
(parameters) to a CD/DVD. This is important when editing protocols; backup
ensures that the current database stays intact. Backup is also important in
case of system failure and all protocol information is lost. If necessary, the
old database can be retrieved and used.
Follow this process to back up the database to a CD/DVD.
Note: Always use a new, blank CD-R/RW or DVD-R/RW for each back up.
DO NOT use DVD +R/RW disks. The system cannot write to this type of disk.
1. Attach a CD/DVD drive into an USB port.
2. Insert a blank disk into the external drive.
3. From the Worklist screen, click utilities button.
The Utilities screen appears.
4. Select Preferences > Protocols.
5. Click [Back up].
A backup confirm message appears.
6. Click [OK].
A backup in progress message appears.
[Cancel] stops the database backup.
When backup is complete, a backup success message appears.
7. Press [OK] to dismiss the message.
8. Remove the CD/DVD from the CD tray.
9. Label the CD/DVD and store it in a safe place.
