Patient Leakage Current Tests
These tests measure leakage current of the device’s floating inputs
(patient connections ground).
Patient Leakage Current to Ground
This test measures leakage current from the floating input (patient
connection) to ground during normal condition (N.C.) and single fault
condition (S.F.C). In all cases, the leakage current is measured from the
floating input to ground: The device has to be turned on and off, and
connected to your safety testing instrument.
During N.C., measurements should be taken under the following
conditions (refer to
“Electrical Safety Tests” on page 4-24):
Device in ON state
Polarity switch NORM and RVS
GND switch GND closed
S1 (neutral) closed
During S.F.C., measurements should be taken under the following
conditions (refer to
“Electrical Safety Tests” on page 4-24):
Device in ON state
Polarity switch NORM and RVS
GND switch closed, S1 (neutral) open
GND switch open, S1 (neutral) closed
