9.5.10 Activate Remote Access
Your phone lets you check your messages, or otherwise operate your answering
machine, by calling the answering machine when you are away from home by
entering a 4-digit remote access PIN on a tone-dialing phone. Use the 4-digit
remote access PIN code to prevent other people from unauthorized access of your
answering machine.
9.5.10.1 Change the 4-Digit Remote Access PIN
Using the handset:
1. Press LEFT SOFTKEY
and / to select ANS. MACHINE.
2. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and / to select TAM SETTINGS.
3. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and / to select CHANGE PIN.
4. Press LEFT SOFTKEY twice to enter the old PIN (default remote
access PIN is 0000).
5. Press LEFT SOFTKEY twice to enter the new 4-digit PIN.
6. Press LEFT SOFTKEY twice to enter the new 4-digit PIN again.
NOTE:
If the new PIN entered in Step 6 is not matched with the new system PIN entered in
Step 5, user is requested to enter the valid system PIN again in Step 5.
7. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to reconfirm.
9.5.10.2 Activate or Deactivate the Remote access
Using the handset:
1. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and / to select ANS. MACHINE.
2. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and / to select TAM SETTINGS.
3. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and / to select REMOTE ACC.
4. Press LEFT SOFTKEY and / to select ON or OFF to turn on or off
the remote access respectively.
5. Press LEFT SOFTKEY to confirm.
