The AFE200 drive is equipped as standard with a port (9-pin D-SUB connec-
tor: XS) for connection of the RS485 serial line used for drive/PC point-to-point
communication (through the GF-eXpress conguration software) or for multi-drop
connection.
To access the connector, remove the lower cover as illustrated in shown in para-
graph 5.2.1.

The connection indicated is without galvanic insulation !

A twin-pair consisting of two symmetrical conductors, spiral wound with a common
shield plus the bonding connection cable, connected as shown in the gure, must
be used for connection. The transmission speed is 38.4 kBaud.
For connection of the RS485 serial line to the PC, see the gure below.
The Modbus or Jbus serial protocol can be selected in the Serial protocol param-
eter PAR 3804. For more details see the “1S9H63_Modbus_it-en.pdf” instruction
manual in the CD supplied with the drive.
