5.3.2 Drive / RS485 port point-to-point connection (with insulation)
To make the connection with galvanic isolation, the OPT-RS485-ADV optional
card is required.
The card is equipped with a 9-pin D-SUB male connector which must be inserted
in the XS connector of the AFE200 drive.
Connect terminals 1, 2 and 4 to the serial line as shown in the gure below; for
the connection from the serial line to the PC, the adapters indicated in paragraph
5.3.1 must be used.

5.3.3 RS 485 multi-drop connection
For the multi-drop connection, the OPT-RS485-ADV optional card must be in-
stalled on each drive; the ends of the connection must have S1 termination switch
set to ON. The multi-drop connection is always galvanically insulated.
Up to 20 drives can be connected; the maximum length of the connection is 200
meters.
