      If the Genie Garage Door Opener motor runs, but the door doesn't move, ensure the magnetic carriage assembly is engaged to the rail drive screw. Check the force adjustment, and verify that all sections of the rail drive screw are turning when the motor runs. Also, check the condition and placement of the coupler, collar, and clip.

      If your Genie garage door opener starts up but stops before fully opening, ensure that the garage door and opener are in good repair, properly lubricated, and properly balanced as detailed in the Maintenance Section. Check the open limit switch for a short circuit and for proper wiring, and verify the open force adjustment.

Until you get a replacement wall console, disconnect the wall console and only use remote controls or a wireless keypad to operate the opener.

Garage Door Opener Assembly

Assembly Step 1: Connect Rail to Power Head

Connect the main rail section to the opener's power head.

Assemble the multi-piece rail sections together securely.

Garage Door Opener Installation

Installation Step 1: Install Header Bracket

Mount the header bracket to the garage wall above the door opening.

Installation Step 2: Install Garage Door Bracket

Attach the bracket to the garage door for connecting the opener arm.

Installation Step 3: Attach Rail to Header Bracket

Connect the assembled rail to the installed header bracket.

Installation Step 4: Attach Power Head to Garage

Securely mount the power head unit to the garage ceiling or structure.

Installation Step 5: Assemble and Connect Door Arms

Assemble and connect the door arms to the carriage and door bracket.

Installation Step 6: Install Safe-T-Beam System

Install the Safe-T-Beam® sensors and source for safety reversal.

Installation Step 7: Wall Console Installation

Mount and wire the wall console for controlling the opener.

Installation Step 8: Connecting Power

Connect the opener to the electrical power source.

Installation Step 9: Set Limit Switches and Force Controls

Configure limit switches and force settings for proper door operation.

Installation Step 10: Setting Contact Reverse Function

Test and verify the door's automatic reversal upon contact.
