14. ERROR MESSAGES
The instrument shows clear warning messages (bottom of the screen) when erroneous conditions appear
or when measured values are outside the expected range.
The information below provides an explanation of the errors and warnings, and recommended action to be taken.
Displayed Message Explanation & Recommended Action
“Temperature under/over range”
Temperature outside specified range.
Replace probe if necessary.
“Under/over compensation range”
During conductivity calibration, the temperature is under/over the
conductivity calibration solution compensation limit.
”EC under/over range”
Outside range in the corresponding scale.
Ensure the vent holes are completely submerged and the sample is within
specified range.
”Broken electrode”
The meter fails to calibrate or gives faulty readings.
Replace the probe.
”EC out of calibration range” Displayed when the measured value is outside calibration range.
”Factory calibration expired” Contact the Hanna technical support for the periodic factory calibration.
