The main function of the fuel rail assembly with injectors of a
direct injection engine is to distribute the fuel supplied by the injection
pump to each cylinder at the required pressure so that the injected fuel
mixes with air in the cylinder and combustion is ensured. The fuel rail
is connected to a high-pressure fuel pipe, through which fuel is supplied
to the fuel rail by means of an injection pump for distribution to the fuel
injectors.
When voltage is applied to the electromagnet winding, the
resulting electromagnetic force exceeds the force created by the
spring, as well as the fuel pressure in the shut-off valves. As a result,
high-pressure fuel is injected from the fuel rail directly into the cylinder
through the nozzle spray holes. When the voltage supply to the winding
is cut off, the electromagnetic force disappears and the fuel injector
shut-off valve automatically closes under the force of the spring. Fuel
injection stops.
The main functions of the fuel rail are to ensure the fastening of
the fuel injectors in the combustion chambers, to keep the fuel inside
the rail at the required pressure, and to supply fuel to each of the
injectors.
