Section 4 - Operating the Rockpicker
Field Preparation
Field preparation plays a major role in the
performance of the rock picker.
- For best picking conditions, the field
should be cultivated prior to picking.
- Cultivating brings stones to the
surface and buries field residues.
1. Check the condition of the apron and the
rock bucket.
- Refer to Section 3 - “Preparing the
Rockpicker” for additional information.
Install both apron locks before
doing any work on the apron.
Serious injury from the apron
lowering could result if both locks
are not installed.
Do not enter the reel or apron
area. Contact with the moving
pickup reel or spring loaded bats
under pressure will cause serious
injury or death.
Do not reach into the moving
pickup reel or spring loaded bats
under pressure. Contact will cause
serious injury or death.
