Scheduled Maintenance
Draining the crankcase oil:
1. Make sure the waterblasting system is shut-
down with the truck in the service position.
2. Remove the safety plug at the oil drain ball
valve tting.
3. Attach a drain hose to the ball valve tting and
route the hose to a suitable waste oil container
capable of handling at least 10 gallons (38
liters) of oil.
4. Open the drain valve and drain the oil.
5. When draining is complete, close the valve and
insert the safety plug. Make sure the safety
plug is clean to avoid contamination. Tighten
the plug to specications.
6. Wipe up any spilled oil and properly dispose
of the waste oil and oil soaked rags.
Filling the crankcase with fresh oil:
When relling the crankcase oil can added through
the breather port at the top of the crankcase or
through the back plate ll port, depending on
which port is most accessible on your unit. Always
clean the area around the ll port before remov-
ing the plug to add oil to reduce the possibility of
dirt and debris entering the crankcase when the
ll plug is removed.
We recommend that the back plate ll port be used
to ll the crankcase whenever possible. The oil will
be added directly to the main oil sump and the
level will register immediately on the sight gauge.
When the breather port at the top of sump is used,
oil is added to the upper sump and it can take up
to several hours before the oil drains to the main
sump and the correct oil level is indicated on the
sight gauge.
1. Clean the area around the back plate ll port
and remove the plug.
2. Make sure the drain valve is closed and the
safety plug is installed in the valve tting and
tightened.
3. Add the recommended amount of high grade,
non-detergent, 80w90 gear oil to the crank-
case. Refer to the pump manufacturer’s Op-
eration and Maintenance manual and/or the
Maintenance Matrix in this chapter for the
correct quantity of gear oil.

4. Verify the crankcase oil level when lling is
complete following the instructions for check-
ing the oil level in the previous section of this
chapter.
5. Make sure the ll plug is clean and insert the
plug into the ller port. Tighten the plug to
specications.
6. Wipe up any spilled oil and properly dispose
of the waste oil and oil soaked rags.
