1)
Measure the brush length.

the brush length is less than the service limit, replace
the brush holder assembly.

2) Check for continuity between the brushes.
There should be no continuity between the brushes.
If
necessary, replace the brush holder as an assembly.
ARMATURE
1)
Check the armature for wear or damage. Check the over-
running clutch installation section of the shaft for wear or
damage. Replace if necessary.
2)
Visually inspect the commutator surface for dust, rust or
other damage. If necessary, wipe it with a clean lint-free
cloth or dress with a fine emery cloth.
