Display assembly
Before removing the display assembly, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the computer. If you are unsure whether the computer is off or in Hibernation, turn
the computer on, and then shut it down through the operating system.
2. Disconnect the power from the computer by unplugging the power cord from the computer.
3. Disconnect all external devices from the computer.
4. Remove the battery (see Battery on page 25), and then remove the following components:
a. Service cover (see Service cover on page 26)
b. Memory module (see Memory module on page 27)
c. WLAN module (see WLAN module on page 28)
d. Optical drive (see Optical drive on page 30)
e. Keyboard (see Keyboard on page 32)
f. Top cover (see Top cover on page 39)
g. Hard drive (see Hard drive on page 47)
h. System board (see System board on page 50)
Remove the display assembly:
1. Release the wireless antenna cable (1) from the routing path (2) built into the base enclosure.
2. Remove the five Phillips PM2.5×4.2 screws (1) that secure the display assembly to the base enclosure.
