External Trig
Sensitivity
6
Verify the external trigger sensitivity at 100 MHz, 100 mV
p-p
and at
25 MHz, 50 mV
p-p
.
Instructions for HP 54645A Only
This procedure applies only to the HP 54645A Oscilloscope.
a
Using the power splitter, connect the signal generator to the
channel 1 input and to the external trigger input. Use the 50-
feedthroughs at the oscilloscope inputs.
b
Change the output of the signal generator to 100 MHz and 70.7 mV
rms
(200 mV
p-p
).
The power splitter divides the 200 mV
p-p
so that 100 mV
p-p
is applied
to each of the oscilloscope inputs.
c
Press
Autoscale
.
d
Press
Source
. Set the trigger source to
Ext
.
e
Check for stable triggering, and adjust the trigger level if necessary.
f
Record results in the Performance Test Record as Pass or Fail.
If test fails, refer to "Troubleshooting the Oscilloscope."
g
Change the output of the signal generator to 25 MHz and 35.4 mV
rms
(100 mV
p-p
).
h
Check for stable triggering, and adjust the trigger level if necessary.
i
Record results in the Performance Test Record as Pass or Fail.
If test fails, refer to "Troubleshooting the Oscilloscope."
