Expansion Card
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (Preparation for Disassembly on page 87).
2. Remove the access panel (
Access Panel on page 88).
3. Move the serial port cable off the slot cover.
4. On the rear panel of the computer lift the slot cover latch (1), and then rotate slot cover up and
away from the slots (2).
5. If you are installing an expansion card for the first time, you must use a flat-blade screwdriver to
pry out the metal shield on the rear panel that covers the expansion slot. Be sure to remove the
appropriate shield for the expansion card you are installing.
