CAUTION: To prevent possible server malfunction and damage to the equipment, multiprocessor
configurations must contain processors with the same part number.
To remove a processor:
1. Power down the server (on page 26).
2. Extend or remove the server from the rack ("Remove the server from the rack" on page 27, "Extend the
server from the rack" on page 27).
3. Remove the access panel ("Access panel" on page 33).
4. Remove the air baffle ("Air baffle" on page 53).
5. Open the processor retaining latch and the processor socket retaining bracket.
6. Using the processor tool, remove the processor from the system board.
