Routing Cables to External Devices
1. Turn off the computer properly through the operating system, then turn off any external devices.
2. Disconnect the power cord from the power outlet.
CAUTION: Regardless of the power-on state, voltage is always present on the system board
as long as the system is plugged into an active AC outlet. You must disconnect the power cord
to avoid damage to the internal components of the computer.
3. Remove the rear I/O panel (Rear I/O Panel on page 49).
4. Remove the power supply cover (
Power Supply Cover on page 47).
5. Remove the decorative panel (
Decorative Panel (IMD) on page 48).
6. Route the cables underneath the rear of the base, then through the hole in the center of the
base, then up through the cable retainer on the neck of the stand and into the appropriate I/O
port.
CAUTION: Be sure that the power cord is secured by the retainer clip next to the DC In power
connector on the rear I/O so that the cord does not get pulled out of the connector.
