3. Remove the riser assembly (see Riser assembly and expansion cards on page 25).
Remove the battery:
1. Disconnect the RTC battery cable from the system board (1).
2. Pull the tab on the power button to release the battery (2), and then remove the battery from the
computer (3).
To install the RTC battery, reverse the removal procedure.
Power button
To remove the power button, use these procedures.
Before removing the power button, follow these steps:
1. Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparation for disassembly on page 17).
2. Remove the access panel (see Access panel on page 17).
3. Remove the riser assembly (see Riser assembly and expansion cards on page 25).
4. Remove the RTC battery (see Battery on page 32).
Remove the power button:
1. Disconnect the power button cable from the system board (1).
2. Use a tool to release the inside top of the power button assembly (2).
