Heatsink and processor
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the heatsink to cool
before touching it.
CAUTION: To avoid damage to the heatsink, do not touch the edge where the heatsink
aligns with the water wall.
CAUTION: To avoid damage to the processor or system board, only authorized personnel
should attempt to replace or install the processor in this server. See video instructions for
replacing the heatsink and processor on the Hewlett Packard Enterprise website
(https://www.brainshark.com/HPLearning/vu?pi=zKFzystysz7uRez0).
To remove and install the component:
1. Power down the server (on page 20).
2. Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
3. Remove the access panel (on page 21).
4. Remove the fan duct (on page 69).
5. Remove the heatsink.
