Removing a riser cage
WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the drives and the internal system
components to cool before touching them.
Procedure
1. If installed,
remove the front bezel.
2. Power down the server.
3. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
4. Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
5. Do one of the following:
•
Extend the server from the rack.
• Remove the server from the rack.
6.
Remove the access panel.
7.
Disconnect any internal cables that are connected to the expansion board.
8.
Remove the riser cage:
a.
Lift the release tab and then rotate it 180° counterclockwise.
b.
Grasp the riser cage at the touch points and lift it out of the chassis.
• Primary riser cage
• Secondary riser cage
