Monitored the IPMB GE uplink port 0/3/0 for any traffic surge.
UA5000(config-if-ipm-0/3)#display port traffic 0
--> When cpu 0/3 is normal (about 25%) and when cpu is high (>75%)
2. Configured MAC filtering.
UA5000(config)#security mac-filter <duplicated mac-address>
3. Enabled ring detection. If UA5000 has found the service-port has loopback, it will deactivate t
he port and report alarm. Customer can then proceed to their subscriber premises to check their n
etwork conditions and remove the network “loop”.
UA5000(config)#ring check enable
The problem was resolved since the mac filtering was implemented.
Suggestions
and summary:
Always apply mac filtering to all important upper-layer devices, such as BRAS, soft-switch, FTP/
Multicast servers, NMS server etc.
