Installing
Installation Precautions
Do not expose the library to moisture.
Do not place the library on either the ends or sides as this action might cause damage.
To install and configure a tabletop or rack-mounted TS2900 Tape Autoloader, complete these procedures in the order they are presented.
Identifying library components
Use the packing slip that is included with your library to identify the library components.
Installing on a tabletop
Follow the directions for installing the deskside cover, if the library is used as a tabletop unit.
Installing in a rack
The TS2900 Tape Autoloader can be easily installed into a standard 19-inch rack system.

Identifying library components
Use the packing slip that is included with your library to identify the library components.
The TS2900 model 3572 is not shipped with the rack mount kit (IBM FC: 7006) and/or power cord (IBM FC: 9800-9847) unless it is ordered.
1. Locate one or more packing slips.
2. Verify that you received each item that is listed on the packing slips.
You must provide SAS cabling with the correct configuration for your HBA. See Optional features.
Note: Order the power cord that matches the electrical requirements of the country or area. See Power cords and receptacles.
Important: If any of the contents of your shipment are damaged or missing, call the appropriate number that is listed on the Quality Hotline card.
Installing on a tabletop
Follow the directions for installing the deskside cover, if the library is used as a tabletop unit.
A deskside cover and six desktop feet must be installed on the library chassis before the library can be used as a tabletop unit. If you intend to install the library in a rack,
skip this step and proceed to Installing in a rack.
Table 1 lists the parts in the deskside assembly kit. A Phillips head screwdriver (preferably with a magnetic head) is needed to assemble the deskside kit.
