Yate Production Dryers
Edition
2006.09.21
In the electromechanical dryer, safety is guaranteed by thermostats mounted in the upper part of the heater
housing (one resettable and cycling on/off to keep the air temperature within 120 °C, the other a one-shot
type that opens irreversibly when exposed to a temperature of 150 °C).
Depending on the type of machine (Ariston or Indesit), drying temperatures are governed by thermostats
positioned adjacent to the hot air (steam) duct.
Ariston machines have two thermostats set at 55 °C and 60 °C; one or other of the two will operate,
depending on the selected cycle (automatic programmes). When the set point temperature is detected
by the sensor, one heating element will be deactivated. The final 10 minutes of the programme are allo-
cated to cooling the fabrics.
Indesit machines have just one self-resetting thermostat that will deactivate both heating elements when
the temperature reaches 78 °C and reactivate them when the temperature drops. The timer will end the pro-
gramme according to the selected duration; the final step of the programme serves to cool the fabrics.
