The function of the front thermostats is to discon-
nect a heating element when the temperature set
point is reached

Indesit condenser dryers - thermostat opens at
78 °C
•
Ariston vented dryers - equipped with 2 ECO
thermostats; in effect, the machine operates 3
automatic programmes. The setting for the half
load thermostat is 60 °C; the setting for the full
load thermostat is 55 °C. The third automatic
programme is controlled by the timer
•
Indesit vented dryer - This has just one thermo-
stat that opens at 58 °C to deactivate one heating
element, then closes to reactivate the element
when the temperature drops
Front thermostats
Location of ECO/Energy Save thermostats
The drum is composed of a galvanized front
section, a rear section, and two removable plastic
paddles. The rear section of drum is pierced to admit
the flow of air. The back of the drum is carried by a
shaft that turns in a friction bearing incorporated into
the rear panel of the dryer. A collar and locking pin
on the shaft of the drum combine to prevent forward
axial movement during operation.
This is a normally open single pole microswitch ac-
tivated by a catch when the door is closed. It is the
first switch in the electrical circuit, and accordingly,
rated to match the full load current of the product
(10 ampères approx).
