Do not remove the probe tube, turn it around and insert it again – this can cause wax/debris to get into the
probe body which will cause damage to the probe.
3.10.5 Probe tube removal
To replace the probe tube, use the ear tip to grasp the probe tube
and pull the probe tube straight out of the probe body. Dispose of
the used probe tube immediately to avoid confusing used tubes
with new tubes.
If the probe tube is removed from the probe body and then re-
used, it will not fit as well as on its initial placement.
If the probe tube is difficult to remove by hand, use the probe
3.10.6 Using the probe tube removal tool for removal
1. Place the front hole of the Probe Tube Tool over the end of the probe, as shown. The probe should be
seated against the face of the tool and snap in place.
2. Squeeze the tool closed and hold it.
3. Twist the tool a couple of times while holding the tool
closed and pulling away from the probe
4. The probe tube will pull out from the probe. Discard the probe
tube.
NOTE: if the tube gets caught in the tool, open the tool wide and discard the tube, or punch out the tube from
the tool and discard.
3.10.7 Probe tube insertion
Take a new probe tube from the package and insert the tube into
the probe head until it is fully seated. A properly inserted probe
tube will snap securely into place when it is inserted correctly.
The probe tube can also be inserted using the probe tube
removal tool.
