2.4.2 PCI Expresscard
If the VisualEyessystem is ordered with FireWire® cameras, the PC needs a PCI Expresscard installed
for FireWire® connection. This should be installed following below instructions.
Close any running programs and shut down the computer. Make sure the power cable and the
power supply for PC are disconnected.
Plug the PCI expresscard into a free PC slot and insert the power adapter F3-14/SATA-16
between the power supply to the PC and the PCI expresscard. Reconnect the power cable and
the PC, and then start the computer.
Windows will automatically install the necessary drivers.
2.4.3 USB connection
The VisualEyessystem is delivered with a 4-port or 7-port USB hub depending on the configuration. This
is an active USB hub that must be supplied with power from the included 12V power supply. The VNG and
vHIT goggles must be connected through this externally powered USB hub to ensure that the devices are
supplied with sufficient power.
