After all the wires are connected use the cable ties to secure all the wires and cables to fixed
elements in the vehicle such as metal parts, but not to the parts that are removed during
vehicle service.
Do not lay wires and cables on the floor of the vehicle where the people work, step on them.
Properly rote the wires in the area where the human activity is not there, otherwise there
are the chances of wires getting damaged.
Attach the device to a fixed support by using double sided tapes and cable ties. Make sure
that the device will not get loose.
When the installation is complete, clean the vehicle and fasten all the screws with originals
and lock the clip mounts properly.
Test the functioning of the vehicle systems before winding up the installation.
Test the communication with the server with proper GNSS fix status before leaving the
vehicle.
8.1.2 Pre-installation information
It is very important to have the information about the vehicles in which you are going to install.
Below are the details about the pre-installation information which technical should have before he
starts for the installation.
Make sure that technician has gone through the installation manuals.
Make sure that technician has the details about the vehicle in which he is going to install so
that he can get prepared with the tool which are required for that vehicle.
Make sure that technician knows restrictions and procedures of the vehicle, if any specific
instructions are there, then contact the manufacturer/dealer for the same. This may be
related to use of fuses, ratings of the wires, tapping and placements etc.
8.1.3 Tools and Equipment required
To install the device in the vehicle below the are the equipment which are required.
Wire Stripper
Wire cutter
Digital/Analog Multi-meter
Screwdrivers of different sizes
Tools to remove the vehicle dashboards (Spanner Set, Allen key Set, screwdrivers etc)
Knife
