Can I use the instrument without fully charging it?
Yes. The instrument will funcon without a full charge, but the operaonal me will be signicantly reduced.
You should place the instrument back on the charger to completely charge the baery as soon as possible.
Warning: Commander Echo instruments are not intended for use while aached to the charger. Never
aempt to operate the instrument while it is connected to the charger as electrical shock or damage to
the instrument may occur.
Warning: Use only a factory-supplied, medical-grade power supply cered to charge medical devices.
Use of another charger may result in electrical shock or equipment damage. It is not recommended that
you charge the devices by connecng them to a computer.
How long do the baeries take to charge?
The inial charge takes four (4) connuous hours of charging to complete. The rst charge is important as it
can aect the amount of power the baery will hold. Subsequent charges should also be completed in four
hours, or unl the device indicates that charging is complete.
What happens if I leave the instrument on the charger too long?
We have designed special circuitry to protect the instrument’s electronic components. The instrument
automacally turns o aer four (4) to six (6) hours, or when charging is complete. Devices should be le
to charge unl they indicate that they are done. As with any Lithium Polymer baery, leaving instruments
connected to the charger for extended periods (e.g. weeks) can reduce the overall life of the baery. Leaving
instruments connected over the weekend should not aect the life of the baeries.
What happens if my instrument does not recharge?
Because of the sensive electronics inside, Commander Echo instruments are not designed for baery
replacement in the eld. If an instrument fails to hold a charge, contact JTECH Medical Customer Service.
What are the current travel restricons for Echo Devices?
Current regulaons do not prohibit carrying on Echo Devices or checking them in baggage. Since the
baeries are already installed safely in the devices, there are no FAA, TSA or DOT restricons on checking
Echo devices. If the devices are checked, they should be secured properly in the hard case to guard against
the device being turned on during transport.
