Can I use the instrument without fully charging it?
Yes. The instrument will funcon without a full charge, but the operaonal me will be signicantly reduced.
You should place the instrument back on the charger to completely charge the baery as soon as possible.
Warning: Commander Echo instruments are not intended for use while aached to the charger. Never
aempt to operate the instrument while it is connected to the charger as electrical shock or damage to
the instrument may occur.
Warning: Use only a factory-supplied, medical-grade power supply cered to charge medical devices.
Use of another charger may result in electrical shock or equipment damage. It is not recommended that
you charge the devices by connecng them to a computer.
How long do the baeries take to charge?
The inial charge takes four (4) connuous hours of charging to complete. The rst charge is important as it
can aect the amount of power the baery will hold. Subsequent charges should also be completed in four
hours, or unl the device indicates that charging is complete.
What happens if I leave the instrument on the charger too long?
We have designed special circuitry to protect the instrument’s electronic components. The instrument
automacally turns o aer four (4) to six (6) hours, or when charging is complete. Devices should be le
to charge unl they indicate that they are done. As with any Lithium Polymer baery, leaving instruments
connected to the charger for extended periods (e.g. weeks) can reduce the overall life of the baery. Leaving
instruments connected over the weekend should not aect the life of the baeries.
What happens if my instrument does not recharge?
Because of the sensive electronics inside, Commander Echo instruments are not designed for baery
replacement in the eld. If an instrument fails to hold a charge, contact JTECH Medical Customer Service.
What are the current travel restricons for Echo Devices?
Current regulaons do not prohibit carrying on Echo Devices or checking them in baggage. Since the
baeries are already installed safely in the devices, there are no FAA, TSA or DOT restricons on checking
Echo devices. If the devices are checked, they should be secured properly in the hard case to guard against
the device being turned on during transport.
