You must install at least one interface card in the rewall. The interface card can be of any of the
available IOC, Flex IOC, or MPC types. You can add just one MIC; or you can add two MICs of the same
or dierent types.
You can install MPCs in any of the slots that are not reserved for Switch Control Boards (SCBs).
If a slot in the SRX5400, SRX5600, or SRX5800 Firewall card cage is not occupied by a card, you must
install a blank panel to shield the empty slot and to allow cooling air to circulate properly through the
rewall. If a slot in an MPC is not occupied by a MIC, you must install a blank panel in the empty MIC
slot to shield it and to allow cooling air to circulate properly through the MPC.
