BATTERY RECHARGING
Your vehicle has a Maintenance-Free(MF)
calcium based battery.
When using a normal type battery
charger (constant current or semicon-
stant voltage charger) recharge the
battery for 12 hours with electric cur-
rent equal to 1/10 of the battery capac-
ity.
When using a rapid-type battery
charger, recharge in the same way as
a regular battery. Carefully read
instructions provided in the battery
charger manual, and make sure you
do not overcharge the battery.
CAUTION
When recharging the battery according
to the procedures described above,
observe the following precautions.
The battery must be removed from
the vehicle and put in an airy place.
Do not bring anything like a lighted
cigarettes, sparks, or flame near the
battery.
Disconnect the battery charger in
the following order.
!) Turn off the battery charger main
switch.
2) Unhook the negative clamp from
the negative terminal.
3) Unhook the positive clamp from
the positive terminal.

NOTE
Before performing maintenance or
recharging the battery, turn off all
accessories and stop the engine.
The negative ( -) cable must be
removed first and installed last.
