the
parking
brake,
apply
the
service
foot
brakes
while
pulling
the
parking
brake
handle
fully
and
firmly
upward.
To
release
the
parking
brake,
pull
the
handle
upward
and
push
the
button.
Then
lower
the
handle
to
the
released
position
while
holding
the
button
in.
WARNING!
e
Do
not
use
the
gearshift
lever
in
place
of
the
parking
brake.
Always
set
the
parking
brake
fully
AND
make
sure
the
gearshift
lever
is
securely
latched
in
1
(First).
e
Turn
the
ignition
switch
off
when
you
leave
the
vehicle,
even
momentarily.
Never
leave
the
vehicle
unattended
while
the
engine
is
running.
e
Unexpected
and
possible
sud-
den
vehicle
movement
may
occur
if
these
precautions
are
not
taken.
e
Do
not
drive
with
the
parking
brake
on.
This
will
cause
abnor-
mally
high
brake
temperatures,
excessive
brake
pad
wear,
and
increased
stopping
distances.

Always
check
the
brake
warning
lamp
each
time
you
start
the
engine.
This
warn-
ing
will
be
illuminated
when
the
engine
is
running
and
the
parking
brake
is
set.
Before
driving,
be
sure
the
parking
brake
is
fully
released
and
the
brake
warning
is
off.
If
the
brake
warning
lamp
remains
on
after
the
parking
brake
is
fully
released,
there
may
be
a
malfunction
in
the
brake
system.
