1.
Depress
the
accelerator
pedal
ABOUT
HALF
WAY
AND
HOLD
IT.
Do
not
pump.
2.
Turn
the
ignition
key
to
the
"START"
position
until
the
engine
starts.
3.
When
the
engine
starts,
release
the
ignition
key
and
accelerator
pedal.
CAUTION
Extended
high
speed
idling
(5
minutes
or
more)
could
produce
an
excessive
exhaust
system
temperature
that
can
damage
your
vehicle.

FLOODED
If
the
engine
is
hot
and
won't
start,
it
may
be
flooded
--
wait
half
a
minute
or
more
before
attempting
to
restart.
1.
Depress
the
accelerator
pedal
to
the
floor
and
hold
it
while
cranking
the
engine.
Do
not
pump.
2.
Turn
the
ignition
key
to
the
"START
"
position
until
the
engine
starts.
3.
When
the
engine
starts,
release
the
ignition
key
and
accelerator
pedal.

Shift
pattern

The
shift
pattern
is
conventional,
as
shown
above.
Press
the
clutch
pedal
down
fully
while
shifting,
then
release
it
slowly.
A
special
safety
feature
prevents
inadvertent
shift-
ing
from
5
(Fifth)
to
R
(Reverse).
The
gearshift
lever
must
be
returned
to
the
Neutral
position
(as
shown)
before
shifting
into
R
(Reverse).
NOTE
Make
sure
the
vehicle
is
completely
stopped
before
shifting
into
R
(Reverse).
