WARNING!
Never
turn
the
Ignition
switch
to
LOCK
or
ACC
while
the
vehicle
is
in
motion.
The
anti-theft
steering
column
lock
is
not
a
substitute
for
the
parking
brake.
Before
leaving
‘the
driver's
seat,
always
make
sure
the
gearshift
lever
is
engaged
in
7
(First)
set
the
parking
brake
fully,
AND
shut
off
the
engine.
Unexpected
and
possible
sudden
vehicle
move-
ment
may
occur
if
these
pre-
cautions
are
not
taken.
Never
reach
for
the
ignition
switch
through
the
steering
wheel.
The
steering
wheel
could
suddenly
turn,
causing
serious
injury.

the

Fasten
seat
belts.
Make
sure
the
parking
brake
is
applied.
Manual
Transaxle---depress
the
clutch
pedal
fully
and
shift
the
transaxle
select
lever
into
NEUTRAL.
Hold
the
clutch
pedal
depressed
while
cranking
the
engine.
CAUTION
Do
not
keep
the
starter
engaged
for
more
than
10
seconds.
If
the
engine
stalls
or
falters
in
starting,
wait
5
to
10
seconds
before
re-engaging
the
starter.
Otherwise
it
may
be
damaged.
IGNITION
SWITCH,
STARTING
ENGINE
COLD

Depress
the
accelerator
pedal
two
or
three
times
to
the
floor
and
release.
Turn
the
ignition
key
to
the
"START"
position
and
hold
it
until
the
engine
starts
(a
maximum
of
10
seconds).
Then
release
the
ignition
key.

Let the
engine
warm
up
for
about
10
seconds.
