– Take off the upper triple clamp with the handlebar and set it
aside.

Cover the components to protect them against damage.
Do not kink the cables and lines.

and protective ring

– Take off the lower triple clamp with the steering stem.
– Remove the upper steering head bearing.

Main work
– Clean the bearing and sealing elements, check for damage,
and grease.
High viscosity grease ( p. 145)
– Insert the lower triple clamp with the steering stem. Mount
upper steering head bearing.

Check whether upper steering head seal

is correctly posi-
tioned.

Push protective ring

and O-ring

onto the steering stem.
