Mode Buttons
e Mode buttons are located beneath the “Mode” label on the right side of the Forte front 
panel. 
Program Button
Pressing the Program button enters Program Mode (described in Program Mode on page 
page 5-1 and, in further detail, in Program Mode on page page 6-1). In Program Mode, 
you can select and play dierent sounds (or “Programs”). is button’s LED is illuminated 
when you are in Program Mode. Program Mode is the default Mode  — the Forte always 
boots up in this Mode.
Multi Button
Pressing the Multi button enters Multi Mode (described in Multi Mode on page page 5-2 
and, in further detail, in Multi Mode on page 8-1). In Multi Mode, you can select dierent 
congurations of Programs, controller assignments, and MIDI channel assignments. 
is button’s LED is illuminated when you are in Multi Mode.
Global Button
Pressing the Global button enters Global Mode (described in Global Mode on page 5-2 
and, in further detail, in Global Mode on page 10-1). In Global Mode, you can edit 
parameters that control the overall behavior of the Forte. ese parameters include tuning, 
transposition and velocity as well as being able to reset the Forte back to a factory state.
 is button’s LED is illuminated when you are in Global Mode.
CAUTION: Performing a Reset will erase ALL User Program and User 
Multis, and will reset Global settings to a  factory state.
