The Layer Function
e Layer Function is convenient, as it automatically congures a Multi to function as a
Layer by setting Zone key ranges and Programs. e Layer Function allows you to layer
Programs and Multis such that more than one sound can be produced by striking one key.
When you create a Layer in Program Mode, you are in fact creating a Multi with two active
Zones (see “Multi Edit Mode” on page 9-1, for more information on Multis). As previously
described, Multis are congurations of four Zones, each of which may have its own Program
and controller assignments.
