Riff
e Ri parameters set whether the Ri is On or O for the Program in each Zone.
Ris are full songs or individual tracks of a song created in the PC4 SE’s Song mode
that you can trigger in Multi mode. Standard MIDI les may also be imported to Song
mode and then used as ris in Multis. Every zone in a Multi can have it’s own ri—a
completely independent sequence. You can use a Multi with many ris to trigger and stop
looped sequences of dierent instrument parts. Alternatively, a single ri can play multiple
instrument parts, and each ri can be used as a dierent song section of a backing track.
Edit Riff Settings
To edit the Ri settings, select the Ri parameter for the desired Zone, set the parameter to
On, then press the EDIT button to view the Ri page.
Follow these steps to use a ri:

song ID#, as well as the desired track and start/stop points.
2. Go to Multi mode and edit a Multi. On the Multi Edit Overview page, choose the
program that you want to use for the ri on the desired zone. (Program changes that are
recorded in song mode will be ignored when using the song as a ri in a Multi.)
3. Go to the Arpeggiator, CC Sequencer and Ri Page page, set the Ri parameter to On
for the desired Zone, and press the EDIT button to got to the Ri page.
4. On the Ri page, select the desired song, track, song Start/Stop points. See below for
descriptions of these parameters, as well as many other parameters that determine the
behavior of a ri.
Note: By default, setting a zone to trigger a ri will disable the ability to play notes of that
Zone’s program from the keyboard. To re-enable this ability, see “Local” on page 5-19.
