680 Series Video Distribution Amplifiers Installation and Operation Manual 1
Chapter 1
680 Series Mounting Frames
Overview
The 680 series distribution amplifiers and mounting frames offer a
comprehensive range of signal handling capabilities for video, subcarrier, and
pulses. The equipment provides high quality, state-of-the-art circuitry that meets
the most demanding requirements for broadcast and program production
systems.
The universal mounting frames are designed to accept any type of amplifier in
any slot. Looping inputs and up to eight outputs per amplifier simplify solutions
to signal distribution and processing requirements, such as equalization,
clamping and delay.
The modular concept provides several fully wired mounting frame options that
facilitate system design and accommodate all of our distribution amplifiers:
• The FR-683 video DA mounting frame and the FR-683AV audio/video DA
mounting frame require one unit of rack space. The FR-683 and FR-683AV
contain one standard 684PS power supply. The FR-683 frame can house
any mix of up to four 8-output 680 series distribution amplifiers.
• The FR-684 Video DA mounting frame and the FR-684AV Audio/Video
DA mounting frame require two units of rack space. The FR-684 and FR-
684AV use the 684PS power supply. These frames are prewired to accept a
second optional power supply for power redundancy. A single power supply
is required per frame, while only one extra power supply is required when
several frames are interconnected.
• The FR-684 can house a mix of up to ten 8-outputs 680 series DAs.
• The FR-684AV can house five 680 series video DAs and five 880 series
audio DAs.
