Chapter 4: VEA-683 Video Equalizing Distribution Amplifier Modules
Installation
VEA-683 video equalizing amplifier modules can be installed in these frames:
• FR-683 – 4 video DA modules mounting frame
• FR-684 – 10 video DA modules mounting frame
• FR-684AV – 5 video and 5 audio DA modules mounting frame
There is no need to terminate unused outputs, but a perfect response can be
obtained if unused outputs are terminated.
Operation
Three potentiometers are located at the front edge of the module: GAIN, EQ,
and RESPONSE.
• A multi-turn GAIN potentiometer provides adjustment of over a range of –3
to +3dB. The gain is increased when this potentiometer is adjusted
clockwise.
• Another multi-turn EQ potentiometer is used to adjust cable equalization. It
is adjusted clockwise to obtain more equalization.
• A single-turn RESPONSE potentiometer allows fine adjustment of the high
frequency response. It has been factory set/calibrated; readjusting is not
recommended without precision test equipment.
